2005 Country Music Awards
I was just watching the 2005 Annual Country Music Awards in New York City! I say was because I had to leave because my eyes and ears needed to recover after the BLEEDING and BURNING that occurred whilst watching. It gets shown later over here in Britain, due to the fact the television people needed to find a slot in the times when at least one person would watch.
The highlight of the highlights for me would have to have been the performance by Big & Rich;
It was HILARIOUS! The collection of band members included (as well as Mr. Army and Mr. Shiney up there) Mr. Suit, Mr. Man-in-a-builders-shirt, Mr. 'Cool', Mr. Topless (who happened to be slightly over weight, making it even more enjoyable) and Mr. Off-the-street. The collection of outfits / misfits looked like one thing had happened;
It seemed to me that prior to the performance, the musicians had all argued as to what to wear on stage and, through their stubbornness, all came along dressed up as their favourite movie characters. The end result was some kind of freakish parallel dimension equivalent to the Village People... With a Banjo.
The rest of the night was filled with warbling women and a rather dodgey looking trophy...
Great entertainment from the British Broadcasting Company! Way to go. Or in the words of the CMA demographic: A-YEE-HAAAR!
I said I'd planned to do the next part to the Harry Potter story today, but this was just TOO important to pass up on! So it will be next week I hope... Next week.
